Toilet Seat Riser

A toilet seat riser is a toileting aid for people who have trouble getting on and off the toilet. They are also sometimes called toilet seat lifters. It is an attachment that sits on the toilet, shortening the distance that is needed to sit down or get back up. It helps people with limited mobility lower themselves carefully onto the toilet without assistance. Some models come complete with hand rails for extra support. Most are able to be used underneath the existing seat and will support between 250 and 300lbs. As it is so easy to install, it is also easy to remove and transport if needed.

There is another type of riser that is used underneath the whole toilet rather than on top of it. This raises the whole toilet and is a much more permanent solution that does involve some work to install. The Medway Corporation sell one made from PVC that is hardly noticeable underneath the toilet. They take anyway any fear that the seat will slip from underneath you as it is installed into the ground.

Toilet seat risers are an essential part of the bathroom for many people. For this reason it is important they are attractive as well as functional. The toilet riser looks as though it is part of the toilet, which is one benefit is has over the seat risers. However, if you prefer a seat riser you could always get a blue one.
